Can you leave the keys in without draining the batteries?

Yes you can, maybe drain my Sprinter chassis battery. I can hear a relay or solenoid initialize and the shifter position indicator light comes on in "P" when the key is inserted. I've never left the key in long enough to see if this changes over time
