Check out Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington State, BC, Vancouver, northern California.... All gorgeous places where you will not need AC, besides the aforementioned Colorado.I beg to differ with you. Even non-desert parts of the states you list can get bloody hot in the summer. In Redding, CA, the average high in summer is over 90 degrees F. Even in WA state last year we had quite a few days over 100 in both Eastern and Western WA. Parts of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana get very hot, too.
I spent last summer in Alaska and did not require AC but that's the only exception I can think of.
