OK original OP here, just an update. WE didn't end up importing but probably should have.
I ended up buying a 2008 HR Scepter 42PDQ in Ontario. Got treated like dirt by the dealer but the MH was the only one we found in over six months that had what we wanted. I had to go around $40K over my original budget just to find anything suitable.
On a side note, while in the dealers business managers office they noted that they were flipping a lot of their better trade-ins to the US (border only 20 minutes away), getting more money because of the Cdn dollar being so low.
They said that's why they had so few units advertised. If it didn't sell locally in a week or two they sent it down south.
Explains the dearth of decent MHs on the market here.
P.S. It was originally imported new into Canada by the dealer. It has a RIVA sticker by the door stating it meets all Canadian requirements dated the time of import. NO CSA stickers to be found anywhere.:W
