I don't care what the rules are in your province or in Manitoba....I don't live there and I never will, and I certainly won't be registering a motor home there. So don't bother posting about Manitoba if I'm your target reader.

Importing a US made unit to Canada: You are importing a Vehicle, so you must abide by the Vehicle Import Rules. JaxDad wants to import a house, so he needs to go by the house import rules....good luck finding them. If you are importing a vehicle you don't care about house rules.
Ok, how about Nova Scotia laws regarding recreational vehicles?
The Nova Scotia Equipment Approval Regulations made under Section 200 of the Motor Vehicle Act which says;
“O.I.C. 73-547, N.S. Reg. 45/73
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Highways dated the 23rd day of May, A.D., 1973, and pursuant to Section 178 of Chapter 191 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967 (Section 200 of Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989), the Motor Vehicle Act, is pleased to adopt the standards and specifications established by the Canadian Standards Association in CSA Standard Z240.1-1972 Vehicle Equipment Requirements for Mobile Homes and Recreational Vehicles without modification or variation, and to order than any equipment used on or incorporated in a trailer manufactured on or after January 1, 1974, conform to the standards and specifications established in the said CSA Standard Z240.1-1972 Vehicle Equipment Requirements for Mobile Homes and Recreational Vehicles.”
January 1, 1974 was 43 years ago, not 15.
