Can't decide what class C to buy??

We are going to be full timers next year & want to start out with a new Class c gas motorhome. The problem is which one?? We have narrowed it down to the Thor Fourwinds 31L, Jayco Greyhawk 31 Fk, and we're just starting to look @ the Winnebago's. Any help as to which one seems the best quality would be helpful.

  • To help you decide on what RV to buy you could go to www.rvknowhow.com and read Joe and Vicki’s suggestions and/or download their e-book `RV Buyers Homework’, which walks you through the process of choosing the best RV for your needs, selecting the right floor plans and features, determining the RV’s cargo-carrying and towing capacities and evaluating its livability. (Nov-Dec Highways, pg. 21)
RVtravel.com and the Better Business Bureau have a DVD that covers the same subject
(http://rvbookstore.com/shop/detail.aspx?p=710&m=2) and Chuck Woodbury has an ebook with similar advice that can be instantly downloaded from www.rvbookstore.com.
The RV Consumer Group, www.rv.org, can comment on quality. Doubt you will get an objective review on this Forum.
  • I'd definitely look at the Winnebago line as an option.
  • I can tell you that the only manufacturer we looked at when we purchased our 2008 Outlook 31C was winnebago due to my perception of their quality. They have been around forever while other manufacturers have come and gone, so they must be good right? Well, boy was I wrong! Nothing major, just needed a new fridge, new microwave convection oven, new airbags on the suspension, freshwater tank fill hose not connected, temperamental slide out that even the dealership cannot properly address, oh and leaky storage compartments, not to mention an awning that has never worked properly (yes, the dealer has looked at it several time), and some delamination on the port side above the fresh water fill that winnebago will not correct. Geez, the only thing I haven't had a problem with is the Chevy chassis this POS is mounted on.
