I don't have a MH, but I have towed a few times. For the benefit of the car, it's best it's on a trailer. For the benefit of the own, it's probably easiest and less space doing a flat tow.
BUT.... as I learned, moving my daughter's car all across this country when she was in the Navy, if you get a trailer, make sure you can opened the doors and actually get out of the car once you've driven it upon the trailer. In my case, the trailer wheel wells were right in the path of the door and didn't leave enough space to get out of the car. Problem solved by climbing out the sun roof, but then couldn't shut the sun roof, which made the inside of the car a real dirty mess when we reached our destination.
About campgrounds. I think it depends upon where you go how much space you have. Every campground and every campsite is different. In Indiana, the State Parks allow only one vehicle and camper on a site. If you have a second vehicle or a second trailer, they are parked in a separate parking area. I see car trailers parked in those spots all the time (and we've been to many State Parks in Indiana). Just my observation!
