We also flat-tow a 2014 CR-V AWD with a ReadyBrute integrated tow bar/braking system. We, too, installed a charging wire; in our case we used the ToadCharge kit. We've towed it ~3,000 miles with no issues. We already had the ReadyBrute and it cost us ~$1,300 to purchase a BlueOx base plate and have it installed along with a wiring harness for the taillights.
