Been towing an '08 Liberty since it was new. For us Flat towing is the only way. Weight is a major consideration, most gassers are only good for 5k. We had a base plate installed and Universal Gear brake. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I might do the installs myself this time. We've got 60k on the Jeep plus at least another 30k towing, only issue you have to watch is that tires and brakes wear at the actual mileage, not the odometer mileage! about to put the second set of new tires on this month.
Now, IF (Make that a BIG IF) I had a real budget and real time, I'd seriously consider a much heavier rig and tow a stackable trailer with a car, jeep and Buggy inside. but that trailer alone is near twice to cost of my toad!
