- EffyExplorer IILowes is OK for DIY projects to get materials. If I ever have flooring that required someone else do the install I would go to a reputable flooring store.
- carpetguy2ExplorerI have seen alot of bad installers in my time. They are everywhere. If you weren't that far I would do it for you.
Ask around locally about carpet stores that has good feedback.
Make sure you get a good 8# pad - mmiilleExplorerLowe's has great carpet. They have lousy installers. Then they will offer 10% off for their bad workmanship. if you don't accept the "It's supposed to look like that" statement. Then they might even offer to send out some other crappy installers with bad attitudes to fix the problem while upsetting your wife. After six weeks or so, you still have a bad installation and you hate Lowe's. Or I could be wrong.
I would go to your local flooring store if given the choice again. - midnightsadieExplorer IIjust go to your local carpet shop take the rv with you, show and tell. they,ll either do the job or point you to a shop that can, lowes HD use anybody that bids on the job.
- carpetguy2Explorer90% of all flooring installers are sub contractors.
Have to make sure the company stands behind the warranty of the installation.
And make sure they are insured .
Alot of carpet guys don't like doing rvs.
If or when you find someone.Make sure it's warm or have the heater on.
Carpet stretches much better . - knshookExplorerNot at all happy with Home Depot installation but might be isolated problem due to contractor.
- Victory402ExplorerI'm sure they have a contractor who would do it for you. I would go with HD though.
- J-RoosterExplorerIf your going to use a Lowe's carpet your going to have to find a installer that is experienced in RV floor work.
- gboppExplorerWe went to Lowe's to get an estimate on vinyl for our S&B kitchen.
It took about a week, someone showed up and gave me a price.
The next day another person came and gave me a different price.
I went to a local flooring store, they gave me a better price than both the Lowe's estimates.
I wouldn't waste my time with Lowe's for flooring. - donn0128Explorer IIThey could possibly find an installer but..... remember they dont install they have contractors. You might find out who their installers are and ask them directly.
