Any knowledge of Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. using workkampers?

I'm aware of the opportunities at Amazon. Do you have knowledge of Lowe's, Home Depot or any other large company using workampers?

All input appreciated. THANKS!

  • Thanks on the Menards tip. When I traveled with the circus (May-August 2013 as a school teacher) I saw many Menard's up North. I was also in North Dakota and a Walmart was "BEGGING" for help...$14.00 per hour...parttime/fulltime/all departments. One lady told me that because of the "oil boom" they couldn't keep help. There were signs placed throughout the store apologizing for not having enough help and if you wanted a job, talk to the manager.
  • I was talking to Menards the other day. They hire morning stocking associates for the hours from 5am to 9am as many days as you want a week. That didn't sound to bad. And if you had the work ethic or desire, probably more would come.
  • Thank you so much for your comments. I'm very much aware of Becky's blog and I respond regularly to her writings. The value of this forum is the amount of knowledge that so many members possess. My intention is to see what new ideas I and others can receive.
  • Contact Becky at her blog. She works part time jobs while enjoying her full time adventure. IIRC, she worked p/t at Lowes near the coastal SC/GA line last year just before leaving for Amazon. She could probably give you some insight.
  • I have heard of them using temps(workampers) for 3-4 weeks, during inventory but I imagine it is up to each store manager who they hire. Barnes & Noble also hires temps at Christmas time, which would be similar to Amazon.
  • I don't see why one could not apply for temp positions and stay in a nearby park. I wouldn't expect them to pay for sites, etc, tho.....
