I use the winegard carryout. Purchased when they first came out. About 2009. I made an adaptor to fit the ground tri pod that the carryout mounts on. Frequently when camping in heavily wooded areas the carryout has to be re-positioned to see the satellite. once located I secure the tri pod with large nail style spikes so it won't be blown over. It provides an excellent picture. Mine is not HD. For camping I do not need HD anyway.
Any mounting method that is secured to the RV will limit your ability to maneuver around to find the satellite.
I see the Camping World Catalog offers a tri pod mount for the carryout. I think for their nearly 100.00 price tho that I would still build my own. The satellite ground tri pods are foldable making for easier storage and it seems like we all have at least 1 laying around.
