I'm over 800 pounds with my Harley and use an Overbilt lift to carry it. Requires removal of the original hitch, replating the back of the frame and mounting the carrier. Works very well but you do notice the weight there, even on my 40 footer. And like 10fourty2 noted, you spend some time cleaning up when you arrive at destination.
I've also used a Rampage lift in the back of a pickup truck. That works well and seems like less dirt on the bike.
