Recently bought an OBD2 transceiver that pairs to my droid phone. The very cheapest ones don't do well, at least on vehicles close to the introduction of OBD2 in 1996, and Fords through the early 2000's. I don't know if it was OBD2 evolution, but I heard the cars the cheap scanner DID work on incorporated CAN/BUS. The more expensive one, around $20, covered our '97 and '02 Fords that the cheap one didn't, plus the '06 Toyota and '09 Nissan that it did work with. And Yes, it will Clear Codes. It'll also go to the Web for explanation of codes, using the free app called Torque.
