They can be programed to display 4 different bits of information at the same time. I have mine set to RPM, MPG, AVG, VLT. I did learn one thing on mine, the cord has a OBD2 connector on one end and a 8-pin modular plug on the other. It monitors the computer even when the engine is switched off. It killed my battery after 4 months of storage. So, now I unplug it when stored - no problem. By the way, the code will be in numbers and may not say "Loose gas cap", more like "emission control" problem. When translated, it means you are letting gaa vapors escape into the air.
In the past, the CEL came on maybe twice, and we fooled w/ gas cap and within a day, light went off. Looks like it wants to stay on tho not blinking. It came on after COSTCO pumps were under too much pressure or something, and gas would not go in the 3/4 empty tank. We went to a Shell station and it looked like we were gonna have same issue (pump stops almost as soon as you pull trigger to start), but it started pumping and filled tank. Noticed CEL on next trip. Have filled it normally once since, but lite stays on. Running smooth, otherwise. The foregoing would lead me to believe you might have a kink in the filler or breather tube to your gas tank. Not sure why it would suddenly do that. I have read on these forums that when the tank is dropped to replace a fuel pump, the hose can get kinked when re-installed.
1) Are there any unique notices a 6.0L "05 Chevy would give at 42.5k mi?
2) After gas caps, what is a common cause of CEL?
3) If Autozone lot looks too small or they no longer scan vehicles, which of these scanners would you recommend:
