If your current cell phone is not locked by your carrier then getting a new sim card is an alternative. You can get a sim card that allows unlimited Canada and US talk, long distance, text and data for periods of up to sixty days at a time. It is not free (about $60.00 per month). Try an internet search to find alternatives.
