We have a F53, and there was a recall that had something to do with wiring and the cruise control. We had ours repaired under this recall in about 2015/16. Do a google search for recalls related to cruise controls on the F53 chassis , there are multiple recalls for various things.
The 2005 F53 was not included in the cruise control disconnect switch recall.
