I was insured with State Farm for many years, mainly because that is what my parents always had. I switched to an Independent Agent, and in doing so saved over $1000/year and have better coverage.
Not saying that State Farm's coverage or service was bad, just that they were not priced competitively. The Independent Agent can either bundle everything you have together with one company, or break them up to several companies, whatever gives you the better rates. My home, auto, RV and umbrella are with Travelers, boats and ATVs are with Progressive, and life insurance with Auto Owners. All are A+ rated (financially stable) companies.
