That's where I got my B. The dealer was so happy to finally sell it, they delivered it 150 miles. I see an occasional A or C class that might work but I'd have to sell my unit first. Then, once it's sold, I'd be without one until I could find something else.

Twice I drove it to work with my suitcase and a cooler in it, made a reservation for that night and the next at a campground and left from work. I had hoped to do that this weekend but I'm on call until a week from Monday. Bumer, but it pays for the travel.

I want to make Momma happy, but I really want a smooth transition. I've seen a bunch of ads for people looking for a class B or camper van. There was one conversion van that I thought about but it didn't have the roof a/c. Mine works great and I don't handle hot weather very well. I'll chisel ice on my T-shirt. Get it hot enough and I want to hide inside under the a/c outlet.

My unit is showing it's age. It's an '89 with the paint that they used back then. (Peeling.) 90K on the clock with a puff of blue from valve guides when I start it. A bit of a white knuckle drive in cross winds but otherwise a comfy ride. If I watch my overhead, I can go just about anywhere.

Well, I paid cash for the B and don't want to borrow to replace it. If the tall top hamper was in back and the shower was taller, it would do fine as it is. As for going with an A, I used to drive a truck and don't have a problem but most of the A's I can afford have a short wheel base for easy turning. This causes a major tail swing when backing it around a corner into a parking space. A longer wheel base probably wouldn't get into where I store my current RV. The reason I got the B in the first place was size. It's 18 1/2 feet long. I've gotten to where I can park it in one move with no backing and filling.

It isn't a "B", but the Winnebago Trend also has a drop-down bed. One floorplan uses a corner queen and allows one to use the drop-down as an option. Another, using the drop-down is a must, but there is more room to do daily stuff.

Another option is the Winnebago ERA 70A. It isn't cheap, but it will have a decent bathroom, the beds should be long enough at 75 inches, and will have roof A/C, a furnace, and a propane generator.

A few years back, we were looking at a Safari Trek, Class A; they came in two lengths 24 feet and 28 feet. They had the "magic bed" which came down from the ceiling. Maybe you can find one of the smaller ones.

That's what I've been thinking. When it comes down to it, the RV is just metal and glass. On the other hand, this gal has a work schedule like I do (so she doesn't complain about mine) plus she can out shoot me on the target range. :)

I'm looking for suggestions on a different unit. I think she'd prefer an A but I haven't found any short enough to park on my property.
