That was a typo. It's a 9200 series; model 9280.
And no, I do not have the remote Wizard controller. It's an inexpensive extra but not available to me during this trip. The unit is mounted in cramped quarters and extremely difficult to see or reach around but.... is there a button on the 9280 that isn't on the connector side that I can't see but will do the work of the remote controller. It may help or it may not but it wouldn't hurt.
I expect that charging the batteries directly with a smart charger will result in smooth operation with no surging but you never know and could be worth trying.
