James Island has moved to top Park list, will probably continue south to Savannah. Any suggestions for RV Park near Savannah ?
We just left there, having spent four days at the Red Gate RV park. This place does everything it needs to. It's well run, and is easily accessible for any size rig. The layout is interesting. Basically a giant field with sites around the perimeter. They are a mix of back in and pull through, and the entire area is flat, mostly grass covered and has a base of rock hard sand. It's right on the interstate heading into downtown, and at least one of the tour trolleys will pick you up at your site. The only downside we found was that it's noisy. There are major roads on two sides and a well used railroad on another. If you have the time, don't miss Sweet potatoes, a great restaurant in the south end of town. Absolutely the best southern cooking we ever had, for less than half of what the bill would be in the historic district. have fun, it's a great city.
