Check Antenna Light

Lance, you are just guessing at the problem. Get a cheap ($10) VOM and start checking your ground from the battery and + to the starter and start solenoid. Your gen more than likely starts from the house batteries, not the chassis battery. Have you checked the cables on the solenoid that was previously mention on the bottom of the radiator mount? You may find that the batter + lead is actually loose on the solenoid. This is not a scaving post, just trying to help you.

Since I just reinstalled my genny I wonder if it could have anything to do with that? Perhaps I wired part of incorrectly and for some reason the engine wont turn over. Later tonight I will go unplug and diconnect all the wires just to see if by some longshot that might be the problem.

I can Guarantee that the antenna has nothing to do with the engine starting controls. No manufacturer has ever done such a thing in the 35 years I have been a RV Technician. Doug

X whatever it is now 03 journey 34hd. And the light is not connected to the ignition I have the same helpfull light that goes off every time antenna up or not .. You have some other problem I can start with the light on so can you

One, has this ever happened to you before? That is, have you started your coach, with that "antenna" light still on? that you can remember? Two, our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330 CAT, and it too has that amber "Check Antenna" light and, it also has a red, "Jacks down" light. Neither one is tied to the starting system of the coach. That engine starts right up and, each time, both lights light up but, they only remain lit for approximately 10-15 seconds or so. I too was concerned that they may hinder us moving when we first purchased the coach. So, I tested them. I started up, and, both the antenna was up and the jacks were down but, not touching the ground, and that coach would move just fine. I didn't drive it anywhere, just tested the possibility of them disabling the drive system 'cause both systems were still deployed.

So, again, they are only warning lights and not connected to the actual units they represent. I will try and dig into your wiring schematics to show you.

The "check antenna" light/alarm is nothing more than a timer. Even if your antenna has been DOWN for a year it'll still alarm when starting your coach. It'll go off in ~15 seconds. The light/alarm controls NOTHING.

Well apparently someone did design this in. I've done everything I can think of and that stupid light is still on and preventing engine from starting, very frustrating!!!

No human being on Earth would purposely design this into an RV & possibly STRAND you in the middle of nowhere! When you figure out the problem, call the designer and TEAR someone a NEW A--H--E.

"Believing" and "actual" are two different things. If you have a VOM, check that battery voltage on the posts (not the battery cables), then if the voltage is 12.5 or greater, work out wards to the ground and to the distribution panels.
