Check Engin Light

If Freightliner chassis, check coolant level/coolant sensor. If OK, change fuel filters. If still on, pull codes/go to a Caterpillar dealer to pull codes.

"kg1d dx".....Did this occur under acceleration or while cruising on flat ground. Often the lights are triggered by clogged fuel filters and will turn the light on under acceleration. Low coolant could also turn the light on. If your filters are old, it might be worth it to change them out before buying any tools or taking it to a shop. Either way, the fuel filters should be changed if they're old.

Yours being a entry level diesel pusher it may not have this option but my AB has a in dash self Diagnostic program and will tell me what code and for what reason
