Based on my '93 C2500 with a 5.7 and 4.10 gears, you should be fine. The heaviest tow was a 35' park style bumper pull. It would maintain 55 on all but the worst grades. The worst was a 7% across a canyon and the truck slowed to 35. How many of those are between Michigan and Florida? 70 on flat ground should be no problem which you could verify in a test drive. I find headwinds are the bigger issue in my '11 with the 6L.
