Extended warranty companies are in business to MAKE MONEY first, helping you is secondary. If they continue to pay out more than they take in, they won't be around for long.
This reminds me of a friend who repeatedly goes to Vegas. He insists that his winnings always pay for the whole trip and always exceed his losses. Yeah, . . . right!
That said, if buying an extended warranty makes you feel better, do it.
