We always use the FW tank and fill it by adding water via the fill opening and never use the campground inlet connection. Yes it requires refilling the Tank every few days but it eliminates the problem as stated AND if there was ever a leak in the system the pump would come on and we would know it. We always turn off the pump when we leave the RV.
