Class 40'-45'

Over 40' you are pretty much 2 bathrooms. There are probably single bathroom 40s with more living space than a 43 or so, not sure about 45s.

I went from a 41"9" single axle with two slides to a 43 (OK 42' 11") tag with 4 slides. We can almost hold a barn dance in the living room area now :B.

The down side is lack of storage underneath, went from 3 1/2 bays to two. The tag takes up some room and the aqua hot takes up 1/2 a bay as well.

Love the ride overall though.

65" here, always that way, as far as I remember.

That adds about 40 square feet, more if the slides are factored in.

The biggest difference I notice with a 45' coach; When I enter I have to yell to see if she is in it. With a smaller coach I could see her. :B

We went from a 41' Journey to our 43' Aspire and do not find it a lot more livable. Yes it has a huge bathroom and a 1/2 bath but the Journey was well suited to us. The BIG BUT is the ride and handling is just so much better with the tag, IFS and another 5 tons of weight!

The only draw back is that some parks cannot accommodate a 45' coach even though they can handle 40'ers. I also don't know if CA ever fixed their law but it was illegal to be over 60' long in CA. With a 45'er you will easily exceed that length with many toads.

Now that I've had a tag axle coach, no way would I go back to a 40' none tag. The improved handling plus the 9,000 CCC makes buying two more tires a none issue.
X2 on Dennis's comments and multiple 600 mile days are easy...even on windy days. We stay mainly in USFS CGs without problems but do not show up Friday hoping to find a spot big enough. That's right, we do not make reservations.
I would not buy a new coach and the one in the link above is way over priced.

We went from a 40' Dynasty and the Exec made a world of difference. Lots of things happen in the 5' space. Extra bays below, another bath if necessary, more storage space and lots more CCC. The tag is also nice altho you can now get 40' with a tag. My tag is liftable from the cockpit so my turning radius is that of a 40'. The extra tires do add to the cost altho I do the Steers then the drive and tag about two years apart. Budget ahead and it's not too hard on the wallet. Finally, you'll notice a definite difference in windy conditions and/or being passed by semis. The difference is simply that there is no sway or push. You just track straight as an arrow. We've been in 65mph winds and while you'll notice some gusts, most of the time you don't feel it at all....Dennis

Lots more room, and you'll notice very little difference traveling. They go down the road smoother than my 40'.
you will find a few older camp grounds that were built with sharper corners, that may be a problem. Just plan ahead. walk the road if in doubt.

There are 8 tires to buy when the time comes, but stagger the years you buy, we buy 2 every 4 years. new tires go on front, fronts go to outside duals, out side duals go inside, inside duals go to tag.

There are differences, but well worth the upgrade.
