Class A 1996 Chevrolet 454 engine starting problem

I have continuing problem on starting 1996 Chevrolet 454 engine. Problem appears to be ignition, no spark from coil. It will start sometimes, run fine, shut it off and try to start later and it won'...

To answer the OP question: No, fuel delivery is not required for spark to occur. In fact, I don't know of any engine management system that does.

So, if you don't have spark, look to the module or reluctor pick-up coil. Lack of fuel is a different issue.
