Class A camping near The Biltmore

Any suggestions for a good campground in close proximity to The Biltmore in NC? Kind of partial to 50 amps, water and sewer. Needs to have level sites that can accomodate 42'. Thanks!
  • Check out bear creek...the lower section with the big pull thru sites..all of 8 minutes away...and they have a box right on the post, with an UHF remote..worked fine...
  • We used the French Broad River Campground which, as the name implies, is right on the French Broad River. Since we have a rear living room class A, we were able to back right up to the river and had a great view out our rear windows. This is right next to a nice public park where you can hike along the river. It is a quick drive to the Biltmore and other parts of Asheville.
  • This place will take your breath away no matter where the RV is. Go early and enjoy it all.

We liked Asheville East KOA in Swannanoa. 11 miles from the Biltmore.

We thought this one was pretty good.
  • AR, last year, we stayed at Campfire Lodgings in Asheville (rated at www.RVParkReviews.com).

The park sits on top of a mountain with wonderful views from most of the sites (we were in a wooded area, no distant view). The park is a little tight but we fit our '08 42 ft. Dynasty up there just fine, just had to be careful. Their driveway is a little daunting as it's steep and twisty. Right before you come up to the entrance kiosk, there is a tight steep left turn. We made it.

The only thing I don't care for (several parks are doing this), they give you a cable box to attach to your TV. We could not get it to work so did without.

    Good luck,
    MM.
