Class A fire

One news report said it was a 40' Discovery....did Fleetwood make a 40' tag.??? I know others did but not Fleetwood....Dennis

Just to spread the word, if you have a gasser and suspect an engine fire, do not open the doghouse to check. Grab your fire extinguisher and go out front and check. That advice, learned here on this forum, saved our motor home. Once the fire was out (one blast did that) and we continued on our way.

Saw a Fifth wheel and it's truck tow car vehicle burn in Mexico this winter. It burned hot, fast, and complete. You couldn't tell what it was after a few short minutes.

Nice tag axle unit, but does anyone know what brand and model?

Just up the street from me. Totally in flames. Tag axle DP, can't quite tell the brand yet. Vague reports that smoke was seen coming out when he was stopped a few miles before the final conflagration.

Oh..agree..in fact the big class C I watched burn was propane powered....they are all subject to fire....heck, my 460 puts out so much heat iam surprised it doesn't self ignite......without and alert system seems to me a rear eng rig will start burning and you may not even know it till its too late.

Hate to tell you, but lots of gas engine fires happen under the hood too. Diesels don't have a corner on the market for under hood fires! And they do make automatic fire suppression extinguishers, both halon and foam, for you Ford's 460 engine compartment.

I don't have a DP...but if I did...you can bet Id have a fire suppression system in the engine bay...like an ansel system in restaurant kitchens and a camera monitor system......Most DP fires start in the engine bay and the driver is oblivious till its too late and your toad is gone too....
