My current RV is a travel trailer.Would like to upgrade to a used gas class a about 10 to 12 years old in the 34 foot range with ability to pull a TOAD.Looking for suggestions/tips to help me make a decision, also on a good choice for a TOAD.Thanks for any help you can provide.Ben

most of the gassers of that vintage would be limited to a 5,000 lb hitch. a used Saturn VUE would be ideal as a toad but be sure it is new enough to be able to tow 4 down. my 2005 is.bumpy

All can pull a toad, it just depends upon how much the toad weighs...most gasser motorhomes can only pull 5000 lbs...some only 3500.Ron

I tow the truck in my sig. with the coach in my sig, across the Continental Divide. It works. I haven't weighed anything.

First, figure out your budget and your needs. Function will then generate specifics about your choices. For example, do you need the toad to be 4x4? I ended up going with an older Suzuki Vitara which is 4x4 and only weighs a few thousand pounds. Most of the gassers are limited to 5,000 lbs towing. Once you get that figured out, the fun starts, such as baseplate, tow bar, braking system, etc.

We bought a used, 35' class A Winnebago gas unit a year ago. We tow a 2014 Honda CRV. It is well under the 5000 lb tow limit (about 3500lbs) for our motorhome. Some items to consider:
1. 2015 CRVs and later cannot be towed 4 down due to their new transmission.
2. The owners manual says don't tow at speeds greater that 65 mph
3. There is a 3-5 minute procedure to go through before towing each day. You also need to do that when towing more than 8 hrs. The procedure consists of starting the car and running through the gears.
4. You need to either pull a fuse or install a fuse disconnect switch (that is what we did) for prolonged towing. Otherwise you may drain the battery.

None of these items are problems for us. It is a good, light tow car.
