You're question is sort of difficult answer with no information about what you're wants and needs are.
As far as advice, I would start with floor plans, look at as many as you can find and you will start to notice the similarities and differences, there is only so much you can do in 45 feet or less.
Once you get a handle on what you like/need/want in a floor plan then set a budget and go from there.
