Class A Water system (How do I use it?)

Hey guys. About a 5 year RV'r here that has only owned a class C. I got a great deal on a Class A but things of course are a bit different with the water system. I am used to 1 connection to fill my tank, and another if I am going to run on city water. Now on the Class A It is a totally different system. I am assuming only one hookup for fill and ciet, and then use the valves to decide which one to use. So, I took a pic. I need someone to tell me what to do to fill my fresh water tank. and someone to tell me how to use city water....and also, possibly, how to clean my system (It has what I believe is an extra hose at the bottom to suck up bleach?? Attached is a picture of my system. Thanks!!!

  • The one position they don't show on the chart is how to fill the tank using portable water containers. With the valves set to the "Fill" position, switching the center "Winterize/Suction Fill" valve the other way (horizontal) enables filling the tank using the suction hose and the on board pump.
  • Thanks guys. After staring at it for a while, I realized that the diagram was actually very simple. I was totally over-thinking it. I managed to pump some bleach water into the tank using the "Winterize/Suction Fill" function. I also figured out how to use city water, fill the tank, drain the hot and cold water. Thanks Guys! I am in the process of testing all of the RV functions and so far have only run across some bad bulbs. I got lucky on this rig!

Look at the pictures..next to each valve is a picture of how to position the FIVE valves depending on what you want to do. For instance, top left, to fill, all valves should be vertical EXCEPT the top RIGHT, which should be horizontal.

Also, a little bleach, small scrub brush and some elbow grease will clean up that area. I would trash the faucet and get a new one. That hose is NASTY....just sayin.....Dennis

and none of the pictures show it as it is actually set up now.

  • You have 5 switches

The 'chart' shows position for each of the switches for each of the 4 function (FILL; USE; DRAIN & WINTERIZE)

Just flip the switches to match chart for the function you want to perform.

Potable water hose hooks up to connection above shower for FILL and USE functions. FILL puts water into fresh water tank......USE is for 'city water' vs using on-board pump.

WINTERIZE.......yes---hose underneath goes into RV Anti-freeze bottle and then you use on-board pump to suck out of bottle and pump thru hot/cold system

  • Looking at it, and you'll have to test, but I wouldn't touch the center and bottom two valves. They're are for winterizing the coach.

Connect your water hose to your connector, top left. Most of these coaches don't have a gravity fill as you were probably use to. Leave the upper right valve in the closed position. Turn the water on to your hose. Now test the operation. By turning the upper right to "OPEN" you should now have water to the coach. Try a faucet and see what happens.

The valve on the upper right let's you either supply the coach with water or fill the tank. Turn it to fill and you should here your tank filling.

If you look at the various positions of the little arrows, they tell you what position ALL of the valves must be in to make something work.

If you want to sanitize your system, just pour the bleach into your, connect the hose and turn the water on.

When you're using the "Tank Fill" position, NEVER walk away to do something else, you'll inevitably forget and can overflow your tank and damage it.
