Disclaimer: I live in Texas, so "cold weather" means a night in the teens every so often, perhaps once every ten or so years, hitting the single digits.
If one is in the same area in a "C", why not skirt it? Obviously the generator and vehicle exhaust would have cut-outs, but the advantage of skirting is that there wouldn't be wind blowing underneath (which helps keep the tanks above freezing), and it can provide some additional storage if need be.
