Look on the inside of the drivers door jamb for the Ford vehicle label. That give the vital statistics of that chassis, some will need decoding. Our VIN # starts with 1FDX E45... ours is an E450. The GVWR will also tell you. The E450 will have a GVWR of 14050 or 14500 (if newer than 2008). If it's on a Chevy chassis, I can't relate to numbers, but Chevy's don't have a V10.
Answering your question, yes the V10 is more than capable. On ours, it barely knows that the CRV is back there.
If the salesman can't give you anymore details about the chassis, I'd be very wary about trusting what he has to say.
