Our aerodynamic, low profile, 24 footer here averaged 10.6 mpg on our 5500 mile trip from Chicago to WA and lots in between. We did not tow our Jeep Liberty this trip and kept our top speed to 60mph. To be honest I was hoping to break the 11 mpg mark. Oh well.

Our mpg will be better than someone with the same exact rig but lives out west. This because our Great Plains drive improves the overall average than those people driving 100% in the mountains.
Taking an average on a tank full or two means nothing to me. I could claim I get 13 mpg if I tracked one tank full over the flats with a tail wind. But what good is that figure? I could take another tank average that yielded 8 mpg when climbing up & down mountains all day.
For me it's "Trip Average", not "tank average".
