73 Gladding Del Ray
84 Crossman
73 Tioga Montara
94 Tioga Montara
03 Winnebago Mini 24v.
All but the Winnebago had roof leaks....Winnie had wall to corner leaks.
The winnebago was the best constructed of them all. Also only one with aluminium frame. - bagmanExplorerI agree with Bordercollie because if you buy a 24 footer, within 2 years, you'll want something a little bigger. A little extra room is nice as is a walk around queen bed! Bags.
- BordercollieExplorerDon't know why you are stuck on 24 footers, 27 footers drive/maneuver almost the same and most have rear bedrooms with rv queen beds some with access on both sides. Most 24 footers are as tall and wide as longer rigs.
Sleeping comfort and adequate storage and cabinet space are important. - j-dExplorer IIWe have a number of members with the FR Forester and Sunseeker. Most of them seem pretty pleased. One of those models has what I'll call a Split Level Floor Plan. What it accomplishes is "basement" storage toward the rear of the coach. Otherwise, your coach is "tall" throughout, to get deep "basement" compartments at the expense of a deep step to the cockpit. Or, a lower profile, smaller step, but shallow storage. The split gives you some of both, but at the expense of NOT having a flat floor throughout your living area. If you can navigate the multi-level interior, it gives you some flexibility.
- jimmer_ExplorerI agree with Garmp1 on the Phoenix Cruiser, high quality, sound construction, factory direct in Elkhart Ind., will work with you to build exactly what you want, within their many styles and lengths, including Sprinter diesel. I, like you, live in west Mich. and it was a nice day trip to visit their factory and discuss / view their selection. Very nice, laid-back people to deal with. Extremely helpful. We bought a used 27 footer there last year, used it this past summer, and are very impressed with the unit. Check out their website, phoenixusarv.com. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
jim - NCWriterExplorerAnother option if you like Diesel engines (we do) is the Winnebago View/Itasca Navion on the Sprinter chassis.
(Edited to add - sorry, didn't see Gonzo already suggested the View. Itasca Navion is same model, just an alternate marketing name.) - Komfort_23TSExplorerThank you all for the information. Anyone have experience with the forest river 24 foot motor home?
- TripalotExplorerAlso take a look at Leisure Travel Vans. They have several floor plans in that size range. They are well made and have good insulation.
- bagmanExplorerYes, Lazy Daze & Born Free are very well built class C and my wife and I have visited both companies. BTW, I do not currently own a Class C, but when I did, it was a Fleetwood Tioga. However, if I was going to buy a Class C today, I would purchase a Jayco Redhawk or GreyHawk. I feel these Jayco C's offer the most bang for the buck! JMHO, Chuck/Bagman.
- Gonzo42ExplorerWe bought our first RV (see below) and couldn't be happier. RMMV
