My two bits. I bought a class C, my first RV (we used to tent camp) mainly because we are a family of five and we did not already own a pickup or SUV that could handle the towing of a TT or fiver. The cost of a truck and a nice TT or fiver exceeded what I spent for a four year old, 29ft class C. Bottom line, most of the RV population is of two main groups. One is couples enjoying their Class A. The other is middle income families who, when beginning to RV, already owned a vehicle to tow with, making a towable more financially obtainable than a driveable. We love our C, but also see the advantages of a Class A, TT, fivers, Truck Campers, etc.
