Cleaning & Polishing fiberglass cap over cab

My B+ has a basic white plastic (fiberglass, I'm pretty sure) cap over the cab. It's very dull and dingy. I'd like to clean it up and renew it. What products? Do I need a buffer? How to work on it above the windshield?

  • Use forum search feature - Red Max Pro. When I work on the cab over area I use combo of ladder, laying on roof, and opening engine hood and stand on flat space near radiator. Depends on how tall you/rig are.
  • For tape residue I use lacquer thinner. For Polish McGuires boat/RV products in the blue bottles does wonders. Collinite is another fantastic product that will give a great shine
  • I am in the same boat (so to speak) with my class C, someone taped the trim up, I had it fixed but there is tape residue. What is best to remove it and not destroy the paint?
