Treat your windshield with Griot's windshield sealant (better then Rain X). Treat the cap with a paint sealant and the bugs will more often then not come off with just the wipers or a quick wipe with a rag. Bonus is the rains runs off and you often don't need the wipers when it's lightly raining.
