Coach House TV visibility

I am interested in the Coach House 23 ft RVs. Looking at the floor plans, I am concerned about the visibility of the TV from the dinette seats and the sofa seats (particularly with the sofa slide out). Unfortunately, there are none of these RVs to look at within a day's drive of me. Can anyone who owns a 23 ft Coach House comment on this for me? Thanks!
  • Our 2007 rig (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT) is very similar regarding the floor plan & TV relationship, though we elected to get the no-slide-out dinette instead of the couch-in-a-slide-out option. Our rig is 6" longer than that Coach House, but we gain the extra comfortable seat, ideal for relaxing and watching TV for one of us. The dinette with memory seat foam cushions isn't bad either, and it too offers a clean view to our "fixed position" TV.

Having the TV on a swivel kind-of scares me. I wonder how well the mechanism will hold the TV securely over years of punishment from being driven around. It seems after a while, the TV would be moving around while driving. Also so much more general movement of the TV itself with every expansion joint. But admittedly I have no first-hand experience.
  • The TV in the Coach House swivels. Look at their videos and one shoes a guy demonstrating the swivel.
  • Same here. TV is to the right of the door in front of the the cabover area. Can't watch it from the chair. Best place to watch is also propped up lengthwise on the dinette with your legs out in front of you.

With that said, we don't watch much TV and if we do it's much more comfortable in bed watching the bedroom TV.

We listen to music or the radio more than we watch TV. Dose not matter where you are then.
  • Since no one with a 23-foot Coach House has responded yet, I will comment. I have observed that there are not many B+ or C floor plans where it is convenient and comfortable to watch TV without getting a crick in your neck. TV location seems to be an after-thought. It's even worse now that they feel the need to offer a 32" TV. It's much easier to find a good location in a small A than in a B+ or C because there is more wall space.

In our Freelander 2600, there is a small TV over the stuffed chair to the right as you enter, across from the dinette. The best way to watch TV is propped up lengthwise on the dinette with your legs out in front of you. Fortunately, watching TV isn't a significant part of our RV experience - we mainly turn it on to catch some news.

If you plan to sit and watch a lot of TV, you might want to look at a lot of floor plans with that in mind and then look further at the ones that have a convenient location. It will significantly cut down your choices. Other forum members probably can suggest some - I just don't know any right offhand.
