I have a National Tropical 2004, 38' that I have to actually drive all the time. I have been reading about the steering stabilizers of which I think I like the Safe Steer best. I called Camping World to talk to them about this product and if they could get it for me. Immediately the person told me that in his experience he would think the problem is in the rear stabilizer. This is something that surprised me.
Has anyone solved the "wander" by replacing the rear stabilizer? I want the motorhome to be easier to steer but don't want to spend money on something I don't need.

Front end alignment.
I would tend to agree -- I would make this recommendation to anyone who has a coach. First question in the 10 year life of the Coach has it been Aligned? Cars and trucks all work off the same principals and if aligned they are easy to drive and wear out parts a whole lot less.
Find a good local truck/bus shop that does fleets and get the Coach aligned, usually $150-250.
I have always been a proponent of alignments but a few years ago I was talking to a fellow who had 250 over the road tractors. His kids got into the business and started keeping all sorts of records on cost per mile etc. They found that if they had all the new trucks aligned when delivered the cost per mile on MPG's, Tires and general wear and tear over the life of the truck was the single most significant thing they could do. Basically he said, the savings, just on the Alignments, paid for his brand new 45' Coach.
So the long and the short - alignment first, the other stuff is just that -- stuff.
JMHO,
