Coachman Mirada

Looking for Coachmen Mirada owners for comments and reviews of
this model. Looked at a very nice one at the RV show in Tampa
this week. All comments, good or bad will be appreciated.
  • I own a Coachman Epic circa 2005 - 2008, mine is a 2007. The Coachman name was purchased by Forrest River about two years ago so depending on when yours was actually manufactured would decide who made it. My 2007 for example has a 2005 chassis and 2006 body sold in 2007. My wife and I looked at hundreds of Class A's for more than a year while living in our Coachman Freedom Express full-timing and while there were certainly very expensive models that were very impressive we came back to the Coachman just because it had things arrainged like we wanted, appointed nicely but not gaudy, functional yet good looking. The bottom line you will find in this forum is -- it does not matter who makes it as long as you and your significant other if there is one, like the layout inside.
  • Have a 2010 mirada 32ds - love the lay out... just like any motorhome you will have some issues... if buying new go to a good dealer who will address your issues after your purchase... things we love... good chassis... great design.. lots of storage... quality middle of the road... cost to value great... things we fixed/ dealt with... glass shower door comes unhooked when driving... small bungie/ lg rubber band secures better.... no gasket on shower drain easily added.. 1$ ... converter died (not coach specific thousands use wfcu converter) ... some storage compartments will get moisture in them... i use boxes... closet door locks the handles break easily... cheap and easy to replace... will be adding hydrolics to the under storage compartments below the passenger slide.. have to hold open with head to load/ unload
  • We bought a 2013 34bh in Oct.The windows have a major problem with wind noise, we stuff tissue paper to quiet them down,no fix just the way they are built. also engine noise and tire noise make talking to co pilot difficlut. The shower floor around the drain is weak, when u step on it will move down, dealer says its just the way its built. cabinet in bathroom is not finished on one end cust cutting ? the molding above dinnet has came loose from the wall, will have to wait till back up north for dealer to fix that.OuR cabinet doors have started to not close, the spacing between them so small, the Florida weather has caused them to swell. I have taken the one th bath off and drilled new holes to move ti over, that works, just have more to do, again design errow. Have had dealer fix other thing before we headed south. but list is growing. As a matter of fact, I have sent Coachman a letter (long) letting them know their quality is lacking.Last thing, the f-53 chassie rides like a Truck, very stiff, had a 1994 air stream with air bags that rode better! so will look into that for future. Would I buy it again? No. so do your home work. Also we paid $85.000 for it list was 121.000. u can Pm me if u want
  • forgot to tell you about one more thing, check out the mattress in master. We failed to check it out and it is the bottom of the line. Only after 3 months we can feel the spring thru thr material. I call it a "No Tell Motel Model" this unit has 2 slides one slide has bunk beds.
  • We used to have a Coachmen Aurora and for an entry level coach it served us well. The only thing in the floor plan that we did not like was the cabinet counter top was too short. Other then that it was OK.
  • Bought a 2011 Coachmen Mirada 35DS in June of 2010 and sold it in November of 2012. It was our first Class A and after having it for a while we found there are things we wanted that we didn’t have. We are planning to order a 2014 Tiffin when they begin accepting orders. I have nothing bad to say about our Coachmen and I’m hoping we have no more issues with the Tiffin than we had with the Coachmen. Our punch list consisted of just 2 items. Our entry door needed to be realigned and we had an annoying squeak coming from the driver’s side slide. Both issues were taken care of to our satisfaction by our selling dealer. I’m convinced you can have good luck or bad luck with any RV. Not sure if it was luck or quality but our Mirada was great for us and the people who purchased it from us are still loving it.
  • I have a 2008 350DS and love it. Only thing that has broken was the front entry lock. Was my fault-didn't lubricate when I should have. A costly mistake. Use bunk beds for storage when grandkids don't go with us. Tow a 1999 Jeep Wrangler with a Blue Ox tow bar. No problems with that yet. As above poster stated, mattress in master leaves a lot to be desired. Got another one at the Original Matteress factory. Sleeps good but would love it better if it were a true queen. Bought mine 3d hand for $59000 in 2009 and wouldn't look back.
  • Always considered the Mirada a good-value-for-money entry-level motor home.
  • UPDATE!!! Between Coachmen Warranty man John and General RV GM Scott in Birch Run,,, ALL is well now. They replaced many things and agree I never should have had to go through all this. Only fair to advice to you all, that they have made things right. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> So I take back my nasty words.******************. We bought a 2013 35DL in Sept of 2012. Found many many things with poor quality/poor workmanship throughout. It was in shop in Oct 2012 for 3 weeks, nothing got done!
After spending Febuary to April in Fla., notified dealership of all the problems and coach is just falling apart. After another almost two months of it sitting at General RV and getting nothing done, I contacted Coachmen. Got parts all approved and promised all would be taken care of quickly. A month later, just got back from General RV again. Found out the lines of lies have not stopped. They had a guy working on it when we showed up, and little of the 48 itema on work order had been fixed, although they told us on phone that all but two thing were done. Left and returned short time later to pick up paperwork inside coach,,,, no one was any longer working on it once we left. Closer to two things were done!! Calls to Coachmen now go unanswered. Lets go back a bit. A 2013 MH with a 2010 Microwave that died while in fla., but now miraculously works. Pieces of wall falling off, poor workmanship building it throughout. Molding tapes peeling off interior, Windows rattle like a antigue coach, glue wrecklessly put on many places. It does have a nice Ford Chassis tho. Highly discourage anyone from pruchasing from Coachmen/Forest River.
