Cobra Passport

We bought a 1996 31' Cobra Passport with 41,000 miles about 8 weeks ago. Anyone have one or one close. No manuals & can't find them online.
  • After buying my 2002 Coachmen Pathfinder in March I found that the manual was almost worthless. The RV had had at least 3-4 previous owners who all did different mods, some of which still worked, many of which didn't. The manual didn't have any of the REAL details like how to bypass the hot water, how the 12V system worked, etc.

Trial and error. If you don't know what something does, google it or ask here. It's taken me 2 months and several trips to get a handle on how my RV really works, but I think I understand 90% of it now. =)

You can get manuals for most appliances at Chris Bryant's Website. You can gOOgle and find manuals for generators, at least ONAN. Chassis owner manual is available from Ford.
The missing piece is the RV manufacturer's "coach" brochure. That's about all you'd need somebody to scan to .pdf or copy and mail to you. I've sent and received manuals that way.
But don't expect too much from an RV Owner's Manual - In most cases they are so generic that they aren't all that helpful. Example - I have the manual for the Jayco in signature. Wanted to find the Fresh Water Tank. Couldn't so I looked in the manual. Manual said "under furniture or a cabinet." I'd already looked there. Finally found it on the BOTTOM side of the floor, crossways, above the Rear Axle.
    This book
by Bob Livingston was very helpful to me when I started on this. It's a good primer about the whole RV, including systems and chassis. Shop for a used copy. Your coach is 10-YOA so you don't need the latest. One close to your coach's age could be better than the newest.
  • Hey there- I just picked up a 96 Passport by Cobra. And could use any manuals/advice. 1st RV ever!

  • I used to have a 1994 Cobra Passport. I believe I only saw one other Cobra in all the years I had it. Unfortunately, everything in the world went wrong with it, including a black water tank that fell down altogether while I was camping, spilling all its contents. The only good thing was the engine, a Ford E350. Sometime shortly thereafter, the company went belly up.
  • We have a 93 Cobra Passport. It is a 21 footer. It has been a great unit for four years so far. Ours did not have any manuals either. If I can help I'll
try, otherwise have fun with your rig! Ours is the Chev. 350.
