Combo Washer/Dryer, is this right?

The dealer told me today they would want $3500 for the conversion! Wow I sure didn't expect that, but then again, I have no idea all that is needed to set it up.

I'll not be doing it for $3500 that is for sure but I sure do thank you guys for your input on the subject.

Let's be realistic. If your coach only has room for a combo unit, fine, but if there is room for a stacked washer and dryer, it's the only way to go.

Yes, if I were to buy a different coach, it would have a combo unit in it. No, due to space limitations, I would not want the stacked units in an RV.
However, we DO have full-sized stacked units in the S&B house. We don't live in an RV at the present time, and space is not at a premium.

We had a combo unit in our coach and DW wanted a separate dryer. I remodeled the closet, added a dryer and use the combo unit as a washer only. If you decide to go separate, you don't HAVE to buy both washer and dryer. You already HAVE a washer. The big difference in the separate dryer is the drum size.

We spent a couple years full timing in a fifth wheel that had a Splendide (vented) in it. I would not hesitate one bit to get another one!
We often did two loads a day in it. DW would come home from the hospital in the morning, and put her scrubs and undies in it while getting ready for bed. When she got up, it was done and ready to hang/put away.
After I took her to work, I would shower, put my clothes in the Splendide, and turn it on. when I got up in the morning to go get DW, my clothes were ready to wear. That little machine worked great for jeans, shirt, and underwear; one suit of clothes,from the skin out!
If I had room in my 32 footer, I would install one. But, sadly, no room.

Dennis, you have a 45 ft. coach with cabinets over the living room seating, tons of kitchen cabinets and lots of bathroom cabinets. I know, because we had a similar coach and we were at 42 ft. and you are 45 ft. We still had plenty of storage even with a stackable Splendide washer and dryer in our '08 Dynasty.

We never used the cabinets above the bed for any serious storage as we just put extra pillows there just because we could. The space that a dryer fills is only a 3 ft. X 4 ft. cabinet. The convenience is overwhelming compared to a combo.

Now, I'm not knocking a combo totally as they certainly have their purpose. I DO NOT want to use a laundry facility ,as early on, we put our brand new towels in a campground laundry washer and someone left bleach in the tub. Our brand new towels were spotted, although, that didn't effect their use, just didn't look good in a new coach. LOL!

We washed our king sheets in the Splendide. Top sheet with two pillow cases and then bottom sheet with two pillow cases (four pillows). Worked well and could wash and dry jeans just like home.

Our new coach also has the stackable but we don't have the same storage. No cabinets above the living room seating, we do have drawers under the sofa and side table storage. Our main extra storage is under in the bays. We could rent out that space to a small family!

Interesting. DW loves her Splendide but we would never start it before bedtime.
It makes noise and can shake the motorhome and then your clothes will sit there cold
all night.

We have a vented combo DW has a thing about laundromats maybe because the only thing we used them for was the dogs bed. We had ours put in when we purchased the 5er more than paid for itself the last 5 years
