- Executive45Explorer IIIIn 2005, the Camelot was the #4 coach in the line from Monaco.
1. Signature
2. Executive
3. Dynasty
4. Camelot
The top three were considered "luxury" coaches and had a steel monocoque constructed framework. The rest of the line up had an aluminum alloy frame.
Because of the similarities in The Executive and the Dynasty, the Exec was dropped and the Camelot moved up the ladder.
Monaco was purchased out of bankruptcy by Navistar who recently sold the brand to Allied Specialty Vehicles, ASV, who also bought Fleetwood out of bankruptcy.
Monaco still offers service and parts at their facilities in Oregon and Decatur....IMHO, the Camelot is an excellent coach...Dennis - conmotoExplorerThere is plenty of support from Monaco but the OP wants to know what coaches are similar to a Camelot. I would believe the Tiffin Allegro Bus and the Newmar DutchStar to be a couple that are similar. Side radiators, and more upscale features than the entry level DPs. There are many more, good luck!
- bsinmichExplorerThere is a bankruptcy in their history. Someone will know the exact timing but there is probably no help from the original factory. They are now owned by the same company Fleetwood.
- lanerdExplorer IIDo you know the hierarchy of the 2005 Monaco's? I don't. I suspect it's probably in the middle someplace and a very nice coach. I'm sure that you can figure that Tiffin, Newmar, and others made a similar model.
I do know that Monaco in 2005 also made Holiday Rambler, Beaver, and Safari and I bet that in each of those brands, you'll find an almost identical coach to the Camelot.
good luck
Ron
