Complaint about a dealer

So, where do I document issues I have had with my RV dealer? Is there someplace on these forums? I have been very careful to not say anything but I may have gotten to the point where I just need to vent!!
  • If you purchased a used unit from a dealer, in order to recover, I think you will have to prove the dealer knowingly/or should have known that they sold you a unit that was unsafe. Also, you may recover if you can prove the dealer committed fraud in some manner. Not sure if you can recover if the dealer failed to disclose issues such as leaks, condition of appliances, etc. It may be considered 'buyer beware'. I look forward to reading more your story. I wish you the best.

Ok...so I will use this thread to document what I have to say. Before I do so, is a used RV something I can submit a claim for in Illinois? If anyone knows, please let me know. I will post the whole ugly story this evening. It will be long winded but I need to vent. Look for an update this evening.

New or used, makes no difference if you have paid for a repair and it is not done right.

I did a quick google search in Illinois and did not find anything except "Automotive Repair Act" Link to Illinois Attorney General

My suggestion is be conservative in your posting, do not "stretch" any truths as that will come back an haunt you. Document EVERYTHING in writing.

Write a "diary" of everything that is said as you will forget things.

  • Here is a good place.

Also, in my state, you can file a complaint with the Department of Motor Vehicles, Vehicle safety, and they will investigate. In my case a letter of censure was issued against Conway truck and bus and they got me a $7,000 refund.

If it is a Camping World you can write to (on this forum) Camping World Service and Installation which will get to "Good Sam Care Team"

They may be able to help.

What ever you do, do not just give up, nothing will change in the RV service industry if no one complains.

Venting do here, otherwise a legitimate complaint that remains unsolved, BBB, local government, and if it's a chain, go to corporate
