On the slide.....if you do some searching you will find that problems with slides are almost 0! I've had my super slide trailer since 06 and the only thing I've done to it is lube the rails and gears. Ask many of us here and we would all say pretty much the same. The slides I would stay away from are the slides with plumbing, i.e. Kitchen slides or a slide with the fridge in it.
If I were you I would look for a V-10 classA. For the same money you will get newer, less miles and the V-10 will still be able to haul a toad over the mountains at 50+ mph! And still get similar mileage than a DP.
