We did the same thing you are talking about doing. After 2 tag behinds and a fifth wheel over the last 30 plus years we were looking for a dp with low miles and preferably garage/shelter stored. After 3 yrs we ran across a Monaco with only 34 k on it. It had more amenities than we were looking for but for the price it hit the bill perfectly. I did all the research you could do before biting the bullet. I had the trailing arms replaced at dealer expense before I would purchase. Other than that it was in perfect shape, one owner unit. The tires run about 1800 to 2100 for me which is a very good price but then again I deal with a local independent tire center. My service is done by a ASC diesel mechanic who runs a garage in his back yard. This was one reason I went the way I did was instead of paying 120 bucks a hour for service I can do it for 65 bucks a hour. We just got back from an extended trip and for a 37 foot with a Cummins 325 hp engine it surprised me on the fuel consumption and the torque thru the Blue Ridge mountains.
Just be careful in your purchase, don't rush and check everything you can before signing on the dotted line.
