I bought a Monaco Cayman 2003 last year, Cummins 300HP, Allison 2000 5 speed. Nice drive, nice ride, quiet, very well insulated, full aluminum roof, non glued external wall so no delamination, engine is strong enough to go anywhere and the trany works very good.
I replaced all the fluid myself, trany, oil, coolant. I get oil change and greased at Walmart, $75. I get plus or minus 11MPG, tested over 10,000 miles east to west coast and back, including driving around and over big Colorado passes.
My tires where 13 years old, starting to show some cracks and had to replaced, $3000. Turbo had a problem, on the 2003 and 2004 they have a DC motor to drive the Variable turbo and exhaust brake, coolant gets in the motor and it stop working, replacement is for a complete unit only, $2000 to $4000, lukily, I fixed mine by taking it apart, sealing the leak and cleaning the moto. On newer models, the VGT has an electronic motor and is replaceable for around $500, not on the 2003.
My coolant and my intercooler radiator had a very small leak, which I did not see, but it went worst so I had to replace them for a recore, $3000 for both but did the install remove myself. It was a good time to replace the belts and I had the alternator rebuilt for $90 while I was there.
I have the Kwikee hydraulic jacks, they are not reliable. I worked on it and it works a bit better now but the circuit board is prone to go bad, not a good system. But you could install a switch system, direct connect.
I should be good for a while hopfully.
