Thanks for the feedback. Have a great time in San Diego. Staying at Canpland or Mission Bay RV? We like both. Chila Vista RV is nice, but we didn't have a fun a time there. We have young family, though.

Ref your question on cold weather.....The Oasis is a great system...Handles the cold very well....

I was boondocking in the Ruby Mtns 2 weeks ago, just outside Elko, about 7000' and it got down to about 5 above....The Oasis on burner handled it fine..Set the temp in both zones and all was fine....I have found that the fireplace, if you have hookups/gen on, puts out a good amount of heat also if needed.....I dislike running the gen so find that the Oasis for heat in really cold weather (on burner) works for us....

Keep in mind that many who say two will work are talking about turning your coach into a tomb. That's fine if you're parked somewhere for many days. If you intend to go to a campground, park your coach in just the right direction, cover everything up and sit for two weeks, you'll be okay. But if you travel and stop every few days, all these suggestions are a pain and really not practical. So you need to decide what your travel plans are.

I also think that few here have experienced the heat in Vegas. It can easily be 95 - 100 at 2:00 am.

If you're one of those who wears a sweater during the summer, I guess 80 degrees is okay, but not for me. The OP is also asking about the EXACT coach that we have.....I'm guessing I might be a better witness as to how it will cool in Vegas.

I echo all the suggestions for 3 air conditioners (we have 3). We frequent the South Texas area a good bit in the summertime and 2 just won't quite get the job done. Especially if you don't turn them on until late in the morning. (like when you are on the road and stop for lunch and/or have gone somewhere in the morning and come back late in the evening.) The suggestion to cover the front windshield helps a lot. We have a curtain that separates the driving (front)from the rest of the coach. Helps a lot (especially when driving.... with the curtain the dash air will most generally do the job.) A 10kw unit is must.

You will find that Newmar is one of the very few to list the R values of insulation used in their coaches. You are getting one of the best so enjoy it in heat or cold.

Most of the heat will come from the front windshield and the front and rear caps. I have insulated all of my windows and roof vents with Reflectix Insulation (reflective bubble insulation) and that includes the shower bubble. It reflects 95% of the radiant heat. I get the big roll and cut it to fit all windows, including the driver/passenger windows AND the front windshield. I put it between the day/night shades and the window glass. It's dark in there but I can easily remove one from a window and roll it up for quick reinstall if I want. I have also insulated my front and rear caps. I'm good in 110+ Texas heat. I also keep a 3 speed fan in the bedroom doorway to circulate the air (it rotates either direction). I usually just run one a/c at night and if I've got a shade, only one in the day time (front a/c at night with fan pointing at the bed or the rear a/c in the day with fan pointed toward living area.)

Both of my a/c's are the 13,500 units.

X-2,, Timmac, said it very well! And it depends on the insulation package and if it has dual pane windows or not!

If you have two and one conks out, you are moving out until repairs are made. With three and one conking out, you can still manage. Also, with three you will get a 10kw generator which then gives you the option of having 220v available for a dryer should you go full time. For me, I would only have three in that climate.
